Related Organizations

In addition to three formal affiliations, TLA has had significant overlap in its aims and membership with a diverse range of other organizations across the library, performance, research and education worlds, resulting in significant cooperation in conferences, publications, and other projects. American Library Association (ALA)

TLA is an affiliate organization of the American Library Association. TLA presents a program every year at ALA's annual conference in June. TLA Liaison to ALA: Brook Stowe, Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus

American Society for Theatre Research (ASTR)

ASTR and TLA hold a joint annual conference in November. TLA Liaison to ASTR: Susan Brady, Yale University

International Association of Libraries and Museums of the Performing Arts (SIBMAS)

SIBMAS (in French: Société Internationale des Bibliothèques et des Musées des Arts Spectacle), the international counterpart to TLA, will be holding its bi-annual Congress in the United States in 2012, at the Harry Ransom Center in Austin, Texas.
