Hugh Denard, Theatron (U.K.)

Hugh Denard lectures in Theatre Studies at the University of Warwick. He is the co-director of projects funded by the Leverhulme Trust and the UK's Joint Information Systems Committee, which use 3D computer modelling to extend research and teaching in innovative ways, and is a research associate of the 3D Visualisation unit of the University of Warwick's e-lab and Theatron Ltd.

He was formerly a research fellow with the Pompey Project, funded by the UK's Arts and Humanities Research Board, using advanced computer modelling to reconstruct Rome's first permanent theatre. His publications include articles on contemporary Irish drama, ancient drama in performance, e-tutoring, and the Pompey Project.

With Prof. Richard Beacham, he is currently co-authoring a book for Yale University Press that uses 3D visualisation techniques to analyse ancient Roman wall paintings. He is the editor of Didaskalia, an online academic journal and resource dedicated to the study of ancient drama in performance.
